about Learning Giraffe - Why we do what we do

We create entertaining learning apps for children of all abilities. 

We saw that very few children’s apps were truly designed with inclusion in mind. Many lacked the visual clarity, interaction modes and accessibility features needed to support children on the autism spectrum, with developmental delays, limited fine motor skills, visual impairments or those who rely on assistive technology.

Guided by our love of animation, storytelling and playful learning, we set out to create experiences that welcome every child. Our apps are designed with multiple ways to play so that all learners can participate and succeed no matter their ability or learning style.

Silly Spin ABC and Silly Spin Colors support Bluetooth switch access and work with Apple and Android accessibility features. Our simple high-contrast visuals make the apps especially friendly for children with CVI here and our experiences can be enjoyed with or without sound. We work closely with children, parents and a team of educational and medical professionals. Our backgrounds span education, toy and game design, software development, illustration, animation, music and brand development. Together we create apps that are playful, thoughtful and developmentally supportive.

Our hope is to inspire other developers to design with accessibility in mind from the very beginning so that all children can join in the joy of learning through play.
